About Us
When my children first began taking ballet classes, I quickly realised how difficult it was to find proper ballet uniforms and correctly fitted ballet shoes in the south-east of Ireland. There simply wasn’t a dedicated dance shop in the region, and that made something so essential unnecessarily stressful for parents and dancers alike.
As a dancer myself, I understand how important correct fitting shoes and quality uniforms are. Ballet is built on strong foundations, and proper footwear and well-made dancewear are an integral part of every class. Ill-fitting shoes can affect comfort, confidence and technique, so getting it right from the start truly matters.
With this in mind, The Dance Shop of Ireland was created in 2016. What began as a solution to a local problem quickly grew into a passion for providing dancers across Ireland with access to high-quality, affordable dancewear and accessories.
Working with trusted brands such as Bloch, 1st Position and Merlet, I carefully source ballet uniforms, shoes and accessories that combine quality, durability and value. My goal has always been to make sure dancers have the right products to support them at every stage of their journey.
To further develop my expertise, I undertook an intensive pointe shoe fitting course in Birmingham. In 2020, pointe shoes were introduced to the shop, allowing me to offer professional fittings and specialist guidance. I now stock a wide range of pointe shoes from Bloch and Merlet, helping dancers find the right fit for their individual needs.
Thank you for visiting The Dance Shop of Ireland. Your support means a great deal to me, and I am proud to support dancers and dance families throughout Ireland.
